Got someone who wants to sell their type s pistons, rings, and type s cams for 600 bucks. Pistons are brand new but cams are slightly used. Is it worth putting them in... how much hp gains would i see... lastly I have heard that the pistons have to have a special coating on it... can someone elaborate? He did say the rings do have the coatings... so let me know.. if it is worth installing. I have heard of problems with the type S cams. I have a JDM h22a any suggestions is appreciated.

if they are in good condition, that's a great buy. Really great. Save at least $200, maybe as much as $300.

As to how much you'd make, probably you'd be adding somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20WHP after tuning. Do search, because there are supposedly some differences that may require you to change the rocker arms or springs or something. Not quite sure.
