Hi Folks -

Just bought an '03 Accord V6 coupe. Nice car, plenty quick, but can always be improved! It's obvious to me that there are a bunch of real experts on this forum, so I figured I'd throw out my questions here. So, Can anyone tell me....

1. What engine number the Accord i-VTEC V6 is? I can tell you it puts out 240Hp and 212LbFt of torque at 5K RPM, but don't yet have much more info on it. Any details about it would be appreciated.

I have hunted around a bit on the net for performance mods, and thus far, haven't found much of anything for the '03 V6. So, Can anyone tell me....

2. Who makes a turbo kit for this engine?

3. Who makes a supercharger kit for this engine?

4. Who makes a nitrous kit for this engine? And what does everyone think about "universal" nitrous kits?

As for all the other links, I found almost nothing for the '03 i-VTEC V6. Can it be that everyone is happy with the engine the way it is?!? I think not, it's just that it's too soon for anyone to have come out with performance mods. The only thing I've found so far is that Comptech says they'll be bringing out an exhaust system for it, and it "should be available by mid this month. We'll also be offering a cold air intake, downpipe, front titanium strut bar, and a rear swaybar shortly sometime afterwards." Also, Superior Racing says they have an Injen cold air intake, a universal nitrous kit (see question 4 above) and universal mufflers.

Finally, does anyone know of any other good websites for performance and/or appearance goodies for this '03 model?

no forced induction kits out as of yet, unless you want custom work done. there is a guy out there on the east coast with a turbo set up for his car. it was all custom though. AEM and INJEN make intakes for the V6. Comptech will have catback exhaust system out "soon". they say. Borla Performance will have a catback and posibly a J-pipe out in 3 weeks. I know Borla's catback system will be out for sure, they are using my car as a test car. The J-pipe is still just an idea. Neuspeed has a strut-tower bar for the front and a short throw kit for the 6 speed guys.

 

Since the 03 Accord Coupe is fairly new, aftermarket companies still need some time. You can find a lot of useful information on http://www.v6performance.net.

 

Just so that you know, the '03 V6 engine doesn't have I-Vtec, it is just Vtec. Only the I4's have I-Vtec in them.

For mods on a relatively new car, suspension will be probably be out in abundance first as well as rims. Engine mods will take a little longer to come through for the aftermarket. The Performance companies (i.e. Greddy, DC Sports, AEM, etc...) need to do some R&D to see if they can improve upon (most likely the y can) the output of the V6 Accord.

The 03 AV6 is using a J30A4 engine.

There is no aftermarket turbo kit available yet but there is a guy in Florida, MrImage, who installed a custom turbo.

No SC kit available yet.

However, TEIN says that they will have a coilover for the AV6 available by winter, but they are not saying what year. Eibach has some springs to lower the car but no aftermarket shocks available.
