i just bought some coilovers off ebay and i was wondering how to install them. i have the struts off and the shocks and everytrhing off. i have the coilovers sitting here they have lots of these rubber little rings i dont know what to do with them. any help

 

the rubber rings go around the shock tube to keep the coilover sleeve from knocking around.

 

To install them if you are using the stock struts you must take the spring off the strut by holding the shiny pole part of the strut and take off the nut at the end of it. If you do not have a spring compressor be careful cause the spring pops off. You can also clamp the spring with an assortment of hose clamps do it evenly on both sids of the spring if you do. The rubber rings simply hold the thredded part of the coil over to the strut. Its really recomended to replace the struts with new (gas shocks) and would make it easyer too but in your case it will "work".
