Subs will they hook up to stock unit?
Ok I have the stock 6 disc player in my car and I just bought some 12'' subs off my friend and I wanted to hook them up in my car so I am going to go to best buy and get everything wired up by them. So its dont right and I wont mess anything up. But is it possible to hoop up the subs to the stock head unit I also have a amp with the subs. Im not sure if this will work or not. Does anyone else have this done to the there car?

yes, in my last few cars i run a 4 channel amp to the fronts and use the rear channels bridged to run the sub. I keep the rears off the stock head unit or i run them with the fronts (no fade).
This is a great set up for good sound without the hassle of people looking into you car to steal a system.
Go to your local stereo installer and they can hook you up!

what you need is a line out converter, it turns your speaker leads into a rca pre out. you lose a little signal but if you want a stealth looking system this is the way to go. a good line out converter with an ajustable gain control with cost about 20 to 25 bucks
it will hook up and sound fine....in my EP3, i have a fostgate punch 360 amp and a kicker comp vr 12 hook up to the stock head unit and stock mids and tweets through a converter...it looks stock and sounds very good...a 12 inch sub in a hatchback with a good box bumps pretty hard..
