Default Goin to the track for the first time.

Well as long as the weather cooperates, I should be goin down to Cecil County drag strip to run my car next friday. I've never ran a car down the 1/4 mile before, so I don't really know what to expect. So can anyone give me some pointers on how to not make an *** out of myself? Just general stuff, like what will happen and what i'll need to bring or do.

make sure you lower the tire presure a little ( do not run street tires to low ) about 28 or so ! them make sure you konw how to launch the car with out spinnin the **** out of the tires cause your 60ft will suck......the faster you get out of the whole and the better your 60 is the better your ET will be.

then just a few more....... roll up the windows, turn off all the accesories, dont try to out drive your self cause you will mess up 4 sure... watch the tree while others are runnin to get a good fel for the lighting system....dont hit the rev limiter.....and one of the biggest mistakes i see all the time: if you are spinnin in first, dont go to second untill the tires catch ( feather the gas ) if you do u will be law too low inthe rpm and you ET will suck!!

good luck dude !!

well i went to the tracks yestereday and i'll tell you that launching on the street is way different then launching at the tracks. its easier to spin ur tires on the street but on the tracks ur most likly gonna boggle ur car. just try to get alot of runs so u can practice.
