Default L3 LSD in a ZC / throw out bearing not engaging pressure plate / WHY!!!!

I have a ZC with a L3 LSD. My clutch and flywheel are for an A6 if memory serves correct or possibly an 89-91 Si, something like that. I bought them over a year ago so my memory of it is kinda vague. But anyway, it's got waaaaay to much play in it. Now im just talkin about the arm attached to the tranny that's attached to the throw out bearing. It seems like it doesn't even hit the pressure plate. Did i get the wrong clutch / flywheel. What is the right clutch / flywheel combo for that tranny. I've always heard match them to the tranny not the motor. So i'm confused. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
