I think you might be confused with the ITR intake... I think the one on the ITR comes with a piece that sucks air from a different spot than the GSR. Try the BSQ DIY icebox...

yeah try the BSQ "icetake". in connects to your stock box and chanels cold air from behind the turn signal just like the ITR ones. I have one for sale thats brand new. lmk

you can do that and find another intake arm from an integra and pipe it straight down. i fitted the other end between the towhook and a/c line. secure it more w/ a c-clamp. your very own cold air intake. make sure the bigger end is fitted in between the rubber piece on the bottom of the intake box. make sure it's air tight as possible there.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by red alert &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i was thinking about buying a k& n filter for my 99 gs-r would it be about the same thing as a comptech filer? i think gs-r's airbox maybe cold air but im really not sure </TD></TR></TABLE>

The Comptech filter is made of foam, so no, it's not the same as a K&N. The stock GS-R airbox draws air from the engine bay, so it's definitely not a cold air intake.
