Default Trouble with Hood Lock

Ok, I got a manual hood lock and having trouble getting it installed. Taking a look at how the hood closes there is no room to put the lock anywhere. The lock itself is too high so when you close the hood, it just hits the lock leaving a 1" gap.
This is an AudioVox hoodlock that I have. It's a basic manual/key lock.

Does anyone here know exactly what's the best location to install the lock?
And what's the best location to drill the hole into the firewall...
Pictures would be really helpful...
Thanks..

I didn't know you had to drill into the firewall. Are you installing an actual release from inside the cockpit?

I have the same audio vox hood cable lock. had it for about 6 months never installed. Mine has a kill switch on it, i think, but im not good with electronics. i think i'd rather pay an experience person to install this one for my car....

its hardt o find someone that has installed it before too.

Sup guys,
Yeah mine has a kill switch in it also. I am just going to leave that part out. Its not important as I only need to lock the hood. You need to drill the hole because of the extra armor that comes with the wire to prevent cutting. So the armor part needs to slip through the hole.
Not too many people are really experienced in putting hood locks. Your right its hard to find it. I wanna do it myself cause I just dont trust those shady shops.
There must be someone on this board that knows how to do this.....

I have to do it soon or else its never gonna happen and it will sit on my floor for months hehehe...
