Everyone touts the 'JDM' ITR header...how's the USDM one ?
I am looking for a cheap upgrade from my GSR's header and am considering all brands/types... I know that the bling bling JDM ITR header is supposed to be good, but how good is the stock USDM ITR header ?
I'd assume it's at least better than the GSR header and I can get one pretty cheap locally.
Any input would be great !

stock usdm ITR header = piece of crap (it's cast iron - pretty much same as your GSR one)
save your money and get a real upgrade (DC JDM 4-1 is pretty cheap, and works well).
Do a search as well - this has been discussed many times...

Not sure if they're the same or not, but not even worth investing any money into. You'd be better off buying a used header in the classifieds with a 2.5' collector.
Before I went to the DC JDM 4-1 I had a DC USDM 4-1. Even that 1 is far better than a stock mainifold! Not 2 mention, it's also far lighter.

I don't think USDM is that bad.
I've had JDM 4-1 and now back to USDM 4-1. Sure, my power is down, but I don't mind it at all.
I guess for $500, JDM header plus test-pipe/high-flow cat isn't bad. But, that's money that I decided to put in my pocket.

Correct...
Even if you got a USDM Type R header free of charge I don't think it would be worth the effort to install.

I had a look at my stock header when the tranny was out. It's a total piece of s*#t. I wouldn't waste my time with one, go for the JDM or DC JDM, it's worth the money.

That's a pretty strong way to put it... point taken.
Well, I'm looking to upgrade from a gsr header. I have a 2.5" C/B... how's the tone/volume of a header (DC or JDM) to a 2.5 catback ?
