best way to apply touch up paint?

anyone got any ideas on how to apply touch up paint so it looks nice?
found a mark in a shape of a toe hitch on my back bumper in the morning

dab it on.. dont brush it in.. but it will still look like crap, but in the same color as the car

do it in two or three phases.

its basically a canyon. fill it up a little at a time and you will get better results.
