Fuel Pump nightmare.. Help car hesitates, and dies...!! TECHS UNITE
It all started when we decided to change my fuel pump from my stock cx to a walbro 190lph. Put the walbro in, car wouldnt run, only ran for 2 minutes then died.
Something was wrong, we unhooked the fuel line under hood, and turned key to on position if fuel was coming out... it wasnt.
so we changed it back to the stock cx pump, did the fuel test, and it sprayed fine..
Now remember, we went from a 79lph to a 190lph back to 79lph.
Motor is a 96spec JDM ITR motor running stock jdm p73 ecu.
Car ran fine on the way home. Next day, on the way to school, the car died while iw as driving... then decided to come back alive. Pressing the gas didnt do a damn thing, the engine wasnt off, becuase i saw the rpm was NOT at zero.
Did it again one last time before i got to school.... seems to happen every time i turn, i dont know why because i slow down and down shift? or just a coincidence.
Anyways, so after school, driving it home, it happend more and more, to a point right before my hosue, it dies... and wouldnt start for 3 minutes.... then i tried again and it started, got about 500 feet then it died before turning into my subvision. I tried starting it... nothing.... tried again... i heard a weird vibrating vacuuming type sound.. im not sure. i tried again, and it tried starting, but didnt make it like the other times. What could be the problem???

i know it'll sound funny but don't rule out an electrical problem, like an open circuit or loose ground... i did and it cost me a lot of time.

lets not do that and say we did. Check if you dont have a bad ground, like at the tranny, that ground is where honda has stupidly wired the fuel pump ground. also check the resistance between 2 and 6 pin i belive on the fuel relay. check helms to make sure. also make sure ur injectors are not stuck open, flooding your chambers. take a test light run it to the neg teminal on the battery and run the light into the colored wires of the injectors, if its not pulsating then uve got some bad injectors. good luck

Remember the wattage diffrence of that high end fuel pump.. If something was going bad ie: wireing, pump relay. That would be the time it would fry.
An after thought, if you havent done so already it wouldent be a bad idea to upsize the gauge of wire and fuel pump relay. You loose a surprising 1 - 1.5v just through the stock wireing and relay.
