Default cheap cheap header...

ok... yea i know many of you will say you get what you pay for or save a lil bit more and get a decent header... yea yea i knoe i just dont liek to listen...
anyways ive been searchin old post about a cheapo header... i found many post about "CHIKARA HEDMAN" header.. a few people say the first time they drove it the paint on it burned off and started rusting within a week... a few other people say its decent for its cheap price and thye had no problems with it for one, two, and even three years... so whats up? is it just luck of which one u get? i uno... thats what im wonderin... thanks...

yea... i knoe i should just save my money and not waste time on a cheapo, but i need sumthin to help out my powerless D15.. i just dont want a header that last a week.. thanks... maybe its just better slow...

I got my cheap header off Ebay and the black paint is already burning off. But its done its job of holding me over till I can afford a swap. It was a Pacesetter that I got for like 125 shipped.

Nopi has dirt cheap headers but they aren't that much of a huge improvment.

get the chikara header. I have heard that they make great gains on the d series. Just paint it in heat resistant paint or something. I think thats what i've heard of people doing with those.

this may sound stupid... but if i repaint it.. should i put it on and wait till all the paint is burnt off... or just no waste all the work and just go and sand it and paint it...

True, but they rust so quickly you wouldn't believe it. If you get an AN-R, which I definately reccommend, have it Ceramic coated.

I've got a DC 4-2-1 1 piece ceramic header for 92-00 SOHCs, I'll let it go for $175 shipped. It's in new condition. here's a pic of it:

why dont u just save money instead of rushing into things...........u dont wanna buy something that ur gonna regret having or want to change it when it could all be done by just waiting a little longer plus who guarantees these cheap header's are good performance wise and not just for appearance.............

i say you get the chikara one, sand it down, get some high-temp paint, paint it and have a nice looking cheap header.

were you talking about this one i posted?

a 1 piece header is just as easy to instal as a 2 piece

when you install a 2 piece header it is easier to install it as a 1 piece

get a turbo manifold, MUCH higher gains than a header, hehehe.

Buy that guys dc-sports for 175 shipped, that's a smoking deal.

Don't waste anymore money on the d15...

Also, doing some swapping around, I found that I think the 99-00 header seems to flow a little better thant he 96-98 civic ex headers...

I have the Chikara header on my d series and it made a pretty good improvement. Before I installed it I sandblasted all the black paint off, then sprayed it with VHT FLAMEPROOF spraypaint. I followed the VHT instructions for curing by baking it and I have had no rust of burnt off paint issues yet.

P.s. I bought the header at summitracing.com for 189 + 7 for the VHT and shipping was free (except there was a hazardous shipping charge for the spray paint) so I was a great deal...

I bought my chikara header used for $25 bucks... Sanded it and painted it High temp black... It gave good gains on the butt dyno, but it's needs paint again a year and a half later.

cheap headers usually rob you of power more than help you
