Default **About to buy a Zex kit.....Any last words?**

Im about to purchase a Zex wet kit for my GSR. I plan on a 50 shot for now, and maybe bump it to a 75 later. I like this kit for the safety (fuel psi based on bottle pressure) and the ease of installation. Does anyone have any objections? Reccomend a different kit? Thanks...

Kaboooooooooooooooooooom!!!!!!!!!!!

haha j/k

Redlinegsr has had the zex kit on his car for quite some time now without any problems(65 shot). He is actually running lsvtec now, but had it running on the gsr motor for while. He ran 8.69 @xx in the 1/8. Not too shabby if you ask me...

More details? I know NX makes a good kit, it was either them or Zex. But why is NX better in your opinion?

NX is the way to go for nitrous.

NX provides better quality parts and components with their kit.

depends on you.. hmm zex only activates at WOT. When your pedal is to the floor because it uses the TPS sensor.

The NX kit is different in the manner it activates. Correct me if im wrong.

I never had any problems with the zex kit.

I've had both...I started with a Zex kit...and finished with an NX wet fogger. Setup was simple on both of them, you just have to know what you're doing. And if you don't, you really shouldn't be using it at all. The NX was nice because I was planning on running a larger shot...so I could have upgraded to direct port, without spending a whole lot of money. After a while, I got used to running the low hp (50hp) settings and I wanted more...NX allowed for that while Zex didn't. I just wouldn't feel safe running a dry 75 shot. Also, the NX solenoids are extremely beefy...some of the best on the market.

Nx is a great kit. Easy install (except when when you get a faulty relay). Uses a switch, which then activates a full throttle switch. great solenoids.

NX makes good ****. I know that you aren't looking at NOS, but I've been running their noids and I had 5 plengers go bad on me in one season. NX uses a silicon compound on their plungers that is guaranteed to not deform when used with a progressive controller or leak when trash gets on the seals.

Zex is good if you are going to run a small shot, but NX is just straight away the best quality **** out there.
It's easy to upgrade and it is rebuildable, where as ZEX is not. If the noids(aka the barney box) go bad then you are screwed.
Further more, wet kits add fuel for you so you don't have to take ito account the nitrous when you are getting tuned for NA duty. If you want to spray a huge shot you don't have to upgrade injectors or worry about running ungodly high fuel pressure.
Basically, wet kits are simple as hell. Get fuel and nitrous to the noids, hop on a dyno, put in the recommended jetting combo, and tune away. If you want more power run bigger jets. If you are running lean, put in a bigger fuel jet.

You need only set Zex, NX, NOS, Venom and Nitrous Works solenoids side-by-side to decide which way to go. NX all the way, big beautiful non-gimptified solenoids. Their new direct fogger system is really neat, but 1000 bucks.. come on guys!

I have their standard 'Import' kit which (probobly the kit you'd want as well) was like 470 out the door I think... it was long ago. The only thing I'd say is if you have the money buy the heater. I ended up having to get it a month later anyway (just my personal opinion). I dont have any of their other gadgets, I'm not 250 dollars lazy so I dont mind going to the trunk to turn on the valve. I did also end up buying their purge kit a year after the initial purchase too.

single or direct port, either will work. Run the single fogger up to a 75 shot, get the direct port kit if you want to go any higher. We've got basically stock preludes running 13.6s with a 75 shot on real street tires, so that is a pretty healthy dose of power.

If you're interested, I've got a used NX kit on ebay right now. It worked great when I took it off (put a greddy turbo on). I've got a msd window switch, nx blowdown tube and fitting, fuel pressure safety switch, Autometer 2 5/8 sport comp gauge/6ft gauge line, NX import kit with 50hp jets...Everything you need to spray and all the safety features. I'd sell it all for $500+ shipping...If you're interested, send me a pm or email me at hghgrad@hotmail.com . I'll pull it off of ebay if you want it.

I am a true believer in the Zex kit. Especially their new wet kit option
People are biased towards the Zex kit because it isnt a cold hard name that has been in the business for a looong time. The way zex controls bottle pressure, to the WOT activtion from your TPS sensor. How much better does it get. I dont consider that just an ease of installation thats less things that can break or go wrong!!!

Wouldn't feel safe run 75 shot dry??? Why not? Ask domestics the size of shot they run dry on their Camaros and Mustangs. Also don't forget about Matt Patricks setup, this year he is running a 2 stage ZEX 125 shot dry and 120 shot wet for a total of 245 shot, on top of the 18 lbs of boost! With proper fuel and tuning it is perfectly safe. For some reason people in the Honda world (mainly Honda-Tech) have developed this idea that dry nitrous is dangerous, and the rumor spreads like wild fire after one person hears someone's car blew up. I'm getting my 125 shot DRY tuned on Hondata on Sept 13.

Go with the ZEX dry kit.
