Default Crower cam question for you Teg owners...

how y'all doin? Anyway, i own a 95 prelude VTEC and i'm interested in purchasing the stage 2 camshafts that crower has just released for the H22A. Well, to get to the point, are there any of you teg owners that have crower cams installed or know of anyone that has them in. I'm asking you guys this because you've had them availalbe for you motors for a while now so i figured their must be someone that has or knows some info on them. If you do, how were the gains? any dyno plots besides the ones on the site? any additional comments would be great.

Thanks in advance.

crower makes good stuff...........you should deffinatly go for it but dont be cheap. buy their valve springs and ti-retainers. they have been tested to work with those cams. any other valvsprings might cause problems.

just like any other cam's with proper tuning they will make good power.

i know of a few people who have crower cams installled (including me) and they have no problems. the people who had problems with the cams was caused by improper installation (like mine). or in the case of the first batch of the B-series VTEC cams where there was a little to much lift on the VTEC lobe and the retainers hit the valve guides. that was only on certain B16 cylinder heads and crower corrected that problem a long time ago.

good luck!

Oh yeah, i never half-*** anything with my car and i don't plan to now especially with engine internals. I need this car to last.
Did you get yours installed or did you do it yourself? Did you ever get yours dyno-tuned? If not, how did the power increase feel at the seat of your pants?

i did install them myself kinda ran into a problem with them but it was not a cam problem more like a machining problem with the head............anyway yes they made a noticable diffrence.

it's kinda hard to compare a B18B non-VTEC engine to a H22. but i deffinatly felt the diffrence in the mid-high rpm range. the HP gains crower has on the website is pretty accuarate. but those are flywheel figures. my engine was not really tuned at the time of my dyno but with those mild cams and a ported head i gained close to 30whp.
