Default 96-00 EX turbo.

I am in the process of selling my Si. I was always on clubsi, but realized that it is not as good as honda-acura, and have heard this site is the place for tech ?'s. Well i am buying a 96-00 EX and plan on putting about 4 grand into the motor. (will have more money for ex rather all money in a stock si) I plan on putting a turbo on it (preferably a 15G, faster spool) I am looking at the greddy kits on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...82036

I want to run an intercooler and was looking at something like this, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...05715

Will this work ok or not? Should there be anything else I should look into to be safe with about 7 psi? Thanks in advance!!!!!!
Jon

I just turbo'd my y8. Pulls nicely at 5 psi. I mean its no 12 second car but its nice for beating GSTs and what not. 7 psi is easily done, you could put 10 lbs safely as long as its tuned.

So, if I go with the intercooler and greddy turbo kit, an electronic boost controller or manual will work with the kit. I would like to go 4 to 5 psi for normal driving but for the weekends go 7psi(i think is wat the stock wastegate is set at). Now with the boost controller, it wont go any higher if the spring is at 7 psi right?

do 7.5 like me.. it's nice... 4 and 5 is hardly anymore hp.. 40more only... i think 70 more is better and more worth it..

DON'T SKIMP ON THE FUEL SETUP.. don't use stupid fmu crap, the least get 450cc injectors plus afc HACK or SMC or some other computer control thing... don't use fmu, that's just plain fucked

i have the same IC...if you go on homemadeturbo.com and sign up, you can prolly get a better deal as they do a lot of group buys on it...i had the greddy kit on my car and had the wastegate arm set at around 9-10psi...

if u got 4k to spend on ur ex..... sleeve that block and get at least an 18g!

15g will hold good boost about 15 psi with good tunning (hondata/aem) or soemthign equivalent..

or u can create ur own kit.. a full t3! yeah! sometimes a little lag can be ur friend keeping you from burning ruber and going no where.

by teh way.. thats a lot of $ for that greddy kit.. im sure it doesnt coem with the injetors, and it doesnt even come with intercooler?!? yikes!

research teh parts/pieces taht its involved with turboing your car... and see if can get all the parts on your own. peopel sell lots of parts here, enoug to build a nice kit, better that the greddy for same or less $$
you can make a t3 spool in the 3k range with boost controler, 3" dp and exaust, a bit higher compression, etc...

think big and you wont have to upgrade down the road when you wanna go faster.. take the advise.. i learned the hard way.

Find a used Complete Greddy Kit with intercooler and BOV with not that many miles...seen used ones go for around $2000-2200...then spend the rest of the money on a Hondata, Boost Controller, Stronger Clutch, Cat-Back..
