also, when i buy the transmission i will probably buy a si transmission, so i buy a si clutch right? and for the flywheel is there a difference between the si flywheel and the DX flywheel?

im keeping the Dx motor, just swapping the tranny.

you will need an '88 tranny if you use an 88 clutch/flywheel. there are some differences between the years.. i think 88 had a 190mm flywheel, 89 200mm and 90-91 used 212mm. the thing with the '88 tranny is that it uses a 21 splined input shaft...

the bigger flywheels have more friction surface area, so they are able to grip better.

this is a useful site for comparing flywheel/tranny/clutch compatibility. if i were you i personally would opt for an '89-'91 tranny, and use the '90-91 flywheel/clutch.

i'm not sure if there are any differences of flywheels/clutches between si and dx models.

while i'm at it... here's a shameless plug if anyone is interested: i have a jun forged cromoly 11lb. flywheel for sale for $250 obo plus shipping. these are over $400 new.

i'm not sure about this conversion specifically.. but you'll need lots of little things like tranny fluid, a shifter and ****, a different gauge cluster and console maybe? a shift boot? sorry i'm not being much help.
