at 64k my light is on... what do i do? is it the timing belt its asking me to change? dah someone advise me
The Maintenance Required light automatically comes on every 7500 miles, whether your car needs it or not. Mainly to remind you things like oil changes (an Integra driven by a minister's wife once every week to church should have its oil changed every 7500, the rest of us here should cut that in half to 3750) and to remind us if we haven't had the 15k mile valve adjustment, to do it pretty soon.
Otherwise, you can turn this off by looking to the right side of the steering column, and putting your hand under the dash there...you'll find a hidden button. Press and hold it for a bit (10sec or so) while the car is turned on and the light should go off).
The "Check Engine" light is the one you should be afraid of, on the other hand. Signals a need for immediate maintenance (and possibly that you should have it towed in rather than attempt to drive it).
P.S. Your timing belt shouldn't need doing `til 90k miles, the standard interval for most Honda engines.

This posting just proved my point yet again that people don't seem to want to read their owner's manual first as this information is clearly indicated in there.

was that the book thing that told me how open the door and use a turn signal?
heh, I think if anyone else was like me, this was my first car that I bought brand new (I am still very proud of that fact
) they sat in their car and read that manual a few times, i don't think I skipped any parts, but there wasn't anything listed on turning off the maint req light, there was an explanation of it though...
