Default CRX Engine Swap???

Im gettin an 89 CRX SI

Since the engine has over 200,000 miles, im plannin on doing an engine swap. I have motor mounts for any B-series engine swap. If i were to get a B18C GSR engine w/ tranny, what else would i need to complete the swap in the CRX??? Do i need new shift linkage? New ECU? Since i work at a garage, im plannin on doing it with one of my buddys who is a mechanic but im new to the whole engine swappage so what else would i need???

Also, would anyone recommend a different engine set up if it's for street racing and daily driving?? I might plan on turbo charging it in the future but thats not for a while.....

Thanks H-T

Haha, nice sig . Yeah, you'll need new linkage and a new ECU for a B swap. It depends on which engine you get, but you may have to either get a cable tranny or convert everything to hydraulic.

I'm not the best about B series swaps though, I just wanted to say nice sig. It all depends on how much money you have to spend. If you have a rather tight budget, go with a SOHC VTEC motor. That way you still get good gas mileage, and still have a bit more power when racing. But since you already have the B series mount kit, I would invest a little more and get a B18A/B.

dohcdelsol:

Its not done yet. I'm waiting on the intermedite shaft, starter and rotor.
oh and i have a little wiring to do

camp1984:

check out http://www.hasport.com or http://www.hcpengineering.com
for what else you need to put the engine in the car.

They most likley will not cover that using a hydro tranny in a cable equiped car will require some major custom fabrication.

McDade, when are you taking me out for ride?!

I guess we should finish the wiring first.
