Help!!! Car over heating after changed timming belt
I changed my belt, put a port&polished head on, changed the rad.. And now it over heats. WHY! the timming is right, theres coolant in it. What the hell is going on?
It takes about 15 minute to over heat(when driving) or it over heats fast when going up a hill. and yes I got the air out through the bleeder on the water neck. And the fan comes on. I still dont know what is going on.
probably air in your cooling system. let it idle for a while with the radiator cap off and run it until all the air bubbles stop coming out. If that doesnt work ive heard that you can squeeze the radiator hoses and push the air bubbles through.
burnig or leaking any antifreeze? (You did say you had the head off) Could be a leaking headgasket. Take out the plugs and compare the tips to see if coolant is getting into one of the cylinders. Also, try taking out the thermostat. A stuck thermostat could cause it to overheat... (I know... I'm a master of the obvious...

check your grounds...specially the one that goes on the valve cover. you woulda had to take that one off. and then there is the thermostate one also. having one of the grounds off would deffiantly be giving you this problem.

Is the rad cap hot when it overheats? Could be a thermostat problem depending on what all you had to remove when you changed the head. Make sure the water is cycling through.
You're not losing any anti-freeze, right?
I can't see what the timing belt would do to the pump that you wouldn't immediately know. If the pump went bad, you'd know it. Its a pretty simple system. It either turns or doesn't. When the bearings go, water starts leaking everwher, but it still turns.

Along with this,
Is there anything blocking the radiator so it would not get air to the fins?

if it was fine before and the only thing you did was change the timing belt, the only thing that couldve been fubar'd is the water pump, make sure that its running fine.

yeah, haha, like big vinyl import racing stickers plastered all over the front of the car? But seriously, a bad thermostat could cause and engine to overheat, and so could a head gasket that's not properly sealed. I've experienced both firsthand.
