i keep on reading about people with cracked sleeves. however these people have CRVTEC turbo set ups.anyone ehave a true B20 turbo set up ?? if so post it up and let me know. I talked to Jinxproof anad Stoopid and both recommend a B20 turbo set up over the LS, whhats your take on it ? Tony1 ?
I ran a b20vtec turbo setup last year. It was untuned and had a clusterfuck fuel setup, but for some reason it pulled like a ****. I made 226/190 6.5 psi. It ran 8.8 @ 81 in the 1/8 in 95+ degrees. I would say the weak link in the b20 blocks are the sleeves, but if its a stock motor keep the boost low and tune it and you can make good power on 7-8 psi
.
I now have a turbo Ls and i miss the quicker spool of the bigger b20

boosted hybrid said the sleeves on tthe B20 isnt too much weaker than the LS. from wat i'v e seen a lot of tee craacked sleeves were due to poor tuning and CRVTEc turbo sett ups .

i dont think it has to really do with the sleeves being any thicker, theyre just thinner due to the bigger bore size. i say its better to resleeve the ls block and bore out if you want a 2.0 lsvtec setup. ive heard of b20 sleeves cracking on all motor applications so for a boosted setup i wouldn't really feel to safe

dollar for dollar, if you are going to run on stock internals, do the ls. i have a b20b in my 95 teg boostin 9psi...dont get me wrong, its quick(12.40@112), but the ls is cheaper and seemed to pull just as hard...im just waiting to crack a sleeve with the b20 actually. my ls ran hard on 10psi and didnt blow till 13-14psi(oops, damn profec). my b20 obviosly has a lot of torque and gets the turbo spoolin fast, but the ls pulled harder top end 6k-7k...good luck either way, i had great luck on both motors with a lil ol fmu setup.
if you do decide to do the b20, ive gotta say its nice to pop the hood and see this view...

I have had my current setup for just a little over a year now without any problems (knock on wood). My last dyno run was on 7 psi, it put down 250 hp and 223 ft lbs of torque. Right now I have the boost set at 9 psi but I've been too lazy to dyno it plus the fact that I dont really care anymore. Current setup is a custom turbo kit, Hondata 2b and 550cc injectors. The car was street tuned with an A/F ratio right around 12:1.

Unfortunately had a problem with overboosting and I blew it. Haven't removed pistons yet. Cylinder walls fine from what I can see though.

cmon .. why all the b20 boys hiding ? you can come out no ones gonna pick on you about the sleeves ..
Man.......all this B20 Turbo talk is making me think hard now
. I have a JDM B20B in my 92 hatch and it pulls hard as is w/ all the bolt ons....was thinking of just putting a b16 head on it and call it a day for that car.....it is my daily too...i'm not a hardcore racer or nothing and hardly go to the track but having a 20 turbo sounds fun

i made my homie with a B20 a believer today he was liek " holy **** i wanna turbocharge my car now"
im rockin the b20 vtec and plan on boostin w/ a sc61 (comes in two days, im so happy). however i do plan on building the block.....does that take me out of the discussion?
B20 (possibly vtec) Turbo is definatly the future of my sol. A CRX or EF Hatch will be the hand me down of the sohc turbo motor.
