Someone talk me out of selling the R for an S2000...
If you've got the money, go for it. It's a fine car... definitely faster than ITR.
p.s. you can donate all your goods to me.

I absolutely love the thought of owning a stook. However, I also need a car that will haul luggage and other items every now and again, and that will haul more than one passenger.
I think as a second car I would most certainly get one, but not as a primary vehicle.

Oh ****... sorry, my bad, you wanted to be talked OUT of it.
The digital dash sold me on the car... I will have a 2002 come spring
Dude,
Does the S2000 offer $8-10,000 more worth of performance than your current car? (Hell Nooooooooooo). They are only marginally faster, and harder to drive fast. If you really want a convertible, then sure. If you are doing this for performance reasons...seems a little silly to me. Both great though.

I'd get a M roadster before I got a S2000. Similar pricing (for used Bimmers that is), and lots more torque with the M cars, plus all kinds of aftermarket options. Thats just me though

if you really enjoy modding cars....i wouldn't get the S2000
anyone see the short story on the comptech S2000 in a recent motor trend...
basically said they took a car close to the edge, and pushed it just a little too far

can't do that. i lovvvved the ITR, but have 0 regrets about selling it for the stook.
both are great cars tho...just depends on what you want out of them. (i wanted RWD...power-oversteer is just too fun).

http://www.geekazoids.net/~images/turbotyperdyno.mpg ... why ask why... of all the crazy cars I've helped build and work on, the R is still in the top 10 of must have cars... It's just so damn fun... kinda like a big shifter kart without the power to weight ratio...
Hehe, if the lack of practicality is okay with you by all means, go for the S2K. It's faster, quieter, more solid, and overall a better sports car. And it's not 10k more. More like 6k.
Aftermarket for the M Roadster and for any BMW is EXPENSIVE!!! Can you say 10k for a turbo kit? 2000 dollar cam kits? Mugen/Spoon parts look cheap by comparison. A tranny swap is 5k alone...

i'll take an s2k anyday. any honda can be modded to be just as good or even better than an itr, but s2k's are different... they're something about owning an s2k and an itr is just a done-up integra(no offense to you itr owners).

Dude come on...there is ALWAYS room to have sex.
BTW, 13's stock sounds good to me.
I can give you many reasons since I was in a similar bind not so long ago...
I have driven both cars a considerable amount since my brother has the s2k and myself the type-r. Personally the type-r is better in many respects. It is the ultimate street fighter among hondas. It is like a weapon, the R that is. It's just a feeling I get when I'm inside the R. The s2k seems more refined to me. Having a bit more class. It's up to your own preference. What do you demand in a car?
I personally demanded performance and nothing else? I dint care much for the leather seating or the electronic guages. Damn I wish I could afford the Sun Elise Type-r.

I test drove a Z06 a few days ago. Fast, fun. Even if I could afford it plus a mandatory SUV as 2nd vehicle for those outdoor excursions, I wouldn't be able to enjoy the drive to the mountains for mountain biking in an SUV. With the R, I get to enjoy the drive to the ride!
Convertables, and non-hatchbacks are just too useless if you have a life. Convertables are GIRLY cars, anyway!
