H22 FRM Honing Mystery?
I've called around to some of the top builders and no one seems to know the process to hone a H22 block. Erick's Racing said it has to be a matt finish hone and not a cross hatch hone because of the all aluminum block. Anyone actually have there's done or have done it? What is FRM? What is the correct hone and process?
LOL! Call honda. Right. Actually I was there today ordering parts and they had no clue. I did however talk to RS Machine and they said it is an all aluminum block including the sleeve, so the hone has to be a soft stone special for aluminum. A regular hone will clog up the stone and tear up the walls. So now the task is locating the right type of hone. Anyone know of one?
