well my r has been acting funny lately. As if this moment the dome light, trunk light, intermitnt wipers dont work (only have mid and high wipers), when i winsheild washer washer fluid comes out but wipers dont go automatically, when take key out of ignition and get out the car with lights on the beeping noise dosent alarm to tell yu the lights are still on, and last but not least my alarm doesnt always lock and unlock the car it takes a few times t get it to arm or unarm(yes i changed the battery in th remote entry). no cel has come on. ive checked all fuses not blown. what could this possible mean or what can i do to resolve this problem. could it be major???? thanx

now the antenna wont go up

Huh? I am not sure what's wrong. All I know is that having a malfunctioning alarm will not give you a Check Engine Light.

Check to see if you got water on the alarm brain, you might have shorted it.

 

did you buy the car brand new? if not, time to break out the voltmeter and begin testing. sounds like some aftermarket entertainment equipment may have been installed/removed improper

The Lights and stuff could be linked to the Alarm but the Wipers is what is throwing me. Well unless you have one of those Alarms that incorporate the Wipers on when it rains.
Is there anything you can think of that was done to the car? Did this problem happen all at once or did it happen gradually?

 

the only entertainment is 2 10" subs. How would that crew up the car?? wht other possibilitys could it be?
it also has happened gradually and this is what it is up to as of today.

Check your ground wires and make sure everything is hooked up correctly.

If that fails - disconnect the sound system entirely to see if the problem exists with the car in stock form.

Then it's just a matter of elimination.

There is a plug of 6 or so ground wires that connects to the chassis near the washer fluid reservoir under the hood on the side. Check it.

 

And if thats not it, I'd definently bring it in. (2001, under warranty I'd assume) Pull the subs out, finding all these could be a pain..

 

well its sounds like it might be in the ign column. cuz everything you mentioned has a wire going thru the steering column. check the wires going to the steering column. good luck!
