These are pics from John's car, which use Catz HID's for low's, high's, and foglights.

 

HID's have always been illegal. from what i've heard, that whole drama about August 15th being doomsday....ended up being a crock. i haven't heard of a law or ordinance that has been passed like they said. now HID prices have skyrocketed.

the Phillips kit i have i originally bought for $515 shipped, now it's close to $600 shipped. oh well...

yes, it's 6000k. i wouldn't go with anything over 6000k though, unless you wanna look like a stunna

 

Anything over 4300K and you look like a stunna

Buying an HID kit for looks instead of light is just as ricer as a big fat heavy ill-fitting fiberglass bodykit that sort of looks like something from VeilSide.

Well I would not go that far. The 5500K and 6500K Hid kits still put out more light than the stock lights. A true ricer puts something on that offers no benefit to the car... also a ricer is usually cheap, and a higher kelvin kit costs more.

Agreed. When people posted that stupid link, I saw a few PANIC about it but I knew it was B.S. because I could not find a single link online or heard anything about it in the news. I told them to be catious of just jumping on board anything they heard or saw online plus it was never backed up with a link to the story of any kind except from the guy who sold them on Team-Integra site. Something as big as "banning" HID would had been on the news, which I never saw.

 

Banning H.I.D.'s, whatta bunch of crock. Is obviously not true, since manufactures are using them more often as OEM parts, and they seem to get brighter. Whats the benefit of making them illegal?, more people wouldn't be able to see the road as well.... NUFF SAID!

i think you can only buy oem hid's no more rebased ones (no more car specific kits)

Same could be said about your 9005 conversion.

Frankly, I don't care about your guys' opinions on my setup. I guess Audi, Mercedes, Porshe, and other high end cars are also rice for having HIDs that exceed 4300k.

The nightlife as far as driving goes, is a lot easier on the eye for me to see a S-class heading at me with a subtle hint of blue rather then a Civic thinking he's Colin Mcrae with ultra bright white HIDs or 9005's for that matter.

To each their own.
