just blew my b16...
well i was driving down the road, not really driving it to hard had it at like 6 grand and heard a little bang and then my motor shut off..i looked and there was a hole right next to the manifold where the vtec wire is..i think it got a antifreeze gallary too because alot of antifreeze was leaking..what do you guys suggest i do, pull my motor and strip it down to see if the heads good and build an ls vtec??i was wondering if i should just get an 1.8 block, or what??i was thinking about pulling it anyway for a project this winter...i dont have a whole lot of money, but i could come up with around 15-1800 if i really had too..i dont wanna bye just another b16 either id like to build mine..any suggestions please..thanks
its deffintly blown, my dad owns a 4 bay garage and we pushed it in me and my buddies from like 2 miles away cayse its too low for a wrecker and i couldnt afford it, and i put it up on a lift and had to take a mirror and looked up right infront of wherew the fan is on the radiatior and sure enough there 2 holes right in the motor i can see the inside..this really sucks..you say get a b20??could i use all my mounts and stuff and how much would one be..yeah i know i probly should research but any help would be greatly appreciated..also is an LS vtec what its all cracked up to be??

well, blown motors suck, i'm on my 3rd built motor, the b20 is not a bad choice, i have heard good things about that set up, ls/vtec is good if done correctly, although i know a few people that liked to rev theirs to 8,500-9,000 that had trouble figuring out "what happened!
" they are not for high revving so if yo uhave that in mind imo i would not even try it!
all you mounts will fit as long as it's a b series motor! think of it this way dude, at least the tranny, mount kit, linkage... is still good!
