Default intermittent sputter on highway

Last wkend i go away with the whip, about a 5 hr drive. About 3.5 hrs into the drive it starts to stutter and lose power under light throttle. If i gave it full throttle it would jump out of it and keep going like normal. No codes. IT feels like the o2 problem i was having for a while when they were wired backwards. This happend at 1am, so it wasnt like it was a long drive in burnign heat. Next day it is fine.

2 wks later as i am moving up to school, 1 hr drive, it starts to do it again.... SEems to only do it on long trips. Anybody have an idea WTF is up here?

Had the same problem a while back...replaced my O2 sensor to a 4 wire O2 and solved it. You probably may not have to switch to a 4 wire but another O2 sensor would do.

i'm having this same problem too, but i've replaced everything but my throttle body and i need to try that o2 sensor suggestion. and what's wrong with my t/b is the fast idle valve plate on teh bottom is missing the plate. so that might have something to do with it. we'll see.

you might also want to check the vacuum connection on to your MAP sensor. i had what seemed like a sporadic bogging/sputter problem like this also. it turned out that the vacuum connection to my MAP was loose and sometimes it would come close to freeing itself (causing a very rich mixture).

sometimes loose distributor rotors can cause similar symptoms but i doubt its your problem right now.

let us know what cures your problem.

I haven't had a chance to pop the hood and change the plugs yet because i am back at school and afraid to lift my hood in this city.

Where is the map sensor located so i can check that out though, when i do... I can't remember

follow your vac. lines to the firewall. it looks like a little black box with a connector on one end and a vac. line connector on top of the 'box'.
