Books - Anything Out There Worth It?
Looking around at Borders today for other things I came across the Automotive section and saw a couple Honda/Acura books. They seemed well-written from the little I looked into them. A quick search on Amazon.com turned up three popular titles.
Has anyone read these before? Are they a good all-around technical look into how to tune a Honda (esp. Integra Gen. 3) for all-motor, F/I, suspension, etc.?
If I'm missing any books, please add them to the poll. Do not add stupid remarks, or I will have a mod look into it (they can tell who posted what).
Kojima, Mike "Honda/Acura Engine Performance: How to Modify D, B and H Series Honda/Acura Engines for Street and Drag Racing Performance"
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...8384X/
Ancas, Mike "Honda & Acura Performance Handbook (Performance Handbooks)"
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...89216/
Pettitt, Joe "High Performance Honda Builder's Handbook (S-A Design)"
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...89216/
Thanks for any input,
Ben

I dunno, just figured I'd post it here even though its lower traffic, because I'm asking the people that know the most about tech which books are the best about tech.

I have both... they are both good. Honda builders handbook has alot more information in it. Also it is a two part series. Really goes into detail on alot of stuff. Kind of alot to take in all at once if you are new to this.
"Maximum Boost" is good.
Mike Kojimas book is good.
"Performance 4 stroke Tuning" by Bell is excellent.
"The Romance of Internal Combustion" (Not sure about that title) is a Nice Historical engine book.
There are also tons of Motorcycle tech books that are good.

I have to agree on the corky bell Maximum boost book, I think it would be a tough read unless you have some experience.
Smokey Yunick's book on high performance engines is probably the easiest book to get started on although it was made way before honda was a real player however, it does explain the internal combustion engine in a non text book way which makes it much easier to get through

Remember, these books are written by someone, and that someone has his own perspective. It should be used as a reference for things that you haven't yet familiarized.
The best way to learn something is by hand-on experience and by watching what others are doing whether it works or not. And to be able to pass that guy that you have always follow, you have to be able to come up with your own tricks and sh$ts.

Yes, the books are helpful, and help point you in the right direction on things.

Honda Performance Handbook sucks. Somewhere in there they state that putting a h series engine in a civic is a waist of time........that's when I put it down.
Please don't post that a book sucks just because one fact in it disagrees with you. Maybe it was a relative statement.
