Default black rubber/tar removal

what is the easyest way to take out the tar that is all over the floor panels? I was told a heat gun would be able to do this. If so, will there be sticky **** left on the floor or will it all come up? If you know or have done this before please share.

I agree with the dry ice and a hammer, chips away faster. DO NOT USE B-12 Chemtool or WD-40, it will make a mess and a B***H to clean up.
