Pls Help-slightly OT, but need advice on MUGEN MF10's
need you opinions on some 16 in. bronze mf10 wheels i found for sale.
i wanted to ask whats a fair price to pay or offer for a used set in mint condition that comes with kumhos, and all lugs and black center-caps?
guy is asking 23/22, but i know that price is almost retail for new ones...90-95%tread on tires.
any help and guidance appreciated.
ps-i know some folks will suggest i put the money in performance instead, but the wheels have always been on my wishlist, so hoping to save a few bucks while the chance is here..

</TD></TR></TABLE>hey art...valid point bro-i do consider them performance, but you have to i guess look at in context to other parts you could buy to up the performance for the same money. to some, as i've seen in other past posts and opinions of others whom i've asked personally, spending 2g's on wheels instead of on the motor in the name of *performance* is laughable.
to be honest, i want the mugens for their weight, build, reputation and beauty...i just didn't want this post to turn into a flame war on what is a more better spend on performance
just some good ol'fashn advice on an offer

16" wheels imo are not performance. going with a 15" more lightweight counterpart is performance.
16" imo = trade off between 17" looks and 15" performance.

I don't know about that, Tom. Sure, 15" is lighter by 1-2 lbs (if you get 6.5" width-ed 15" wheel). But, the main draw to 15" is the tire selection. There aren't too many 16" R-compound or high-performance tires. Plus, tires cost almost double for 16" wheels.

Well when you get on a track or autocross, you'll realize that money spent on the motor is basically wasted. Tires and suspension are so much more important.
But if you wanted 16's but wanted to keep them lightweight, then mugen is not a bad choice. Some tires will also have a wider contact patch (i.e. 205/50/15 vs. 215/45/16 falkens) when moving up a size.

OK, here's something to think about.
You indicate that they are mint and the tire tread is 90+%.
But, the MOST important thing is : Are they still round ?
Mugen's are forged, right ? If so, check to see that they still are round by having them balanced, and maybe test run on your car before handing over your hard earned money. If it comes down to trying to save a couple of bucks, and maybe inheriting someone else's problems, then you'll realize the saying : Sometimes in life you get what you pay for. If you buy the wheels new, you'll be assured that they haven't met a pothole yet, and you will have tires you really want.
If, after you address that concern, all is OK, then you may have a great deal.
Just my rambling 0.02.

To all the people that hassle others for not putting money into their motor first are a bunch of idiots. What people should really spend their money is on track time. It doesn't matter if you make 230 whp all motor if you can't control the car at the limit.
There have been so many people that I have seen rag on others because the bought wheels or seats, instead of go fast parts. But ****, buy whatever the hell you want. Most of the people that have all that power can't even keep themselves on the pavement.
I have seen the rims go for much less, but if they're mint, and the guy is local then get em'
