i got problems
tonight when i turned my lights on i realized my gauge lights werent on and then i relized my tailights werent on either but my headlights were on. i figured it was a fuse so i found the one it was and replaced it and it blew it imediately, so i tried a litle higher number fuse and it blew it too and then somthing started smoking. I cannot find a burnt wire or anything and it is still blowing fuses. then i found the wire that had disconected from my hondata s200 and reconnected it (the one that comes from under the dash) and then when i reved it up in neutral it hit rev limiter at 1500 rpms and when i drove it down the street it would go to 1500 and sputter then go onto higher rpms, so i unplugged it again because it was running fine without it but now when i go over 1500 rpms my check engine light comes on. im having a bad night. sorry so long. if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

hears what you do from now on. First whenever I change a fuse I disconnect the battery for good measure then put the puse back in and reconnect the battery. If it blows it mean you have a short somewhere and need to find it like a wire that touched something exposing the insides causeing it to blow. find the exposed part and cover it back up in electrical tape. Oh and dont forget to reset the computer
You have a wire pinched somewhere in either the cluster or the dash lights...
Same thing happened to me (minus the hondata stuff)...
It's probobly the wire that goes from the cig. lighter to the ashtray light... check it out It pinches easily when re-installing the "lower console".

You can make it faster by taking out all the lights that do not turn on then putting them in one at a time till the fuse blows again once that does check through that circuit.

Not to be a dick but taking out the guage/dash lights ain't exactly easy...
And it's not going to affect anything if it's just a simple pinched wire which can be found in under 5min... by removing 2-4 screws...

Sorry didn't realize that the gauge lights were on that cicuit, so ya that would take a while to do. But if worst came to worst and he could not find the pinched wire he could do that.

dont know about ecu but if you have an aftermarket radio in your car check behind it and see if the illumination wire is grounding out. same goes for aftermarket gauges.
