oil pan gasket replacement for 90 civic si
Hi,
When replacing the oil pan gasket for my 90 civic si do i reuse those 4 dowel pins or sleeves that go in the studs on the ends of the oil pan? The manual i have does not mention these. It does mention a heavy dose of gasket sealer.
Any info would be appreciated.

unbolt oilpan....scrape of gasket residue from block....install new gasket w/ hondabond/silicon gasket maker....bolt oilpan back up...easy as that
Those little metal o-rings were once embedded into the old gasket where the 4 studs would go.. If you have an OEM gasket, you would be able to feel the same o-rings embedded in that gasket as well...
Make sure the o-rings from the original gasket are NOT on the oil pan studs..If you forget to remove them, the gasket will leak, I've seen this done on numerous occassions...
