Default ACT street disk vs. ACT 6 puck race disk

This would be going on a turbo daily driver. I was wondering if the race disk would wear quite a bit faster than the street disk for daily driving? how many of you use the race disk for daily driving? I don't mind the chatter. Thanks.

i think if you had the race disk you would have a huge and i mean huge left leg cuz they are hard as hell to push.

the 6-puck act is unsprung so it will chatter and abuse your tranny. You might like the chatter, but your tranny might not.

THe positive side of the 6-puck is that it grabs great for racing and it can hold more power.

Overall, i will always recommend the street disk. It grips, holds, and is friendly on the tranny.

The 6-puck isn't that bad, but the street disk is better . It also costs more money

the pressure doesn't depend on which disc you use, but rather on the strength of the diaphram on the pressure plate.

I have the ACT Xtreme plate now with the street disk. You get used to the extra pedal effort..

Hmm, good point on the tranny not liking it. Plus it'd be better if clutch slid a tad anyway so it wouldn't be so harsh on the trans and driveline. I'll go with the Xtreme/street disk again... Thanks for the input guys.

My act unsprung 6 puck last 3,000 miles...thats it! It was driven very hard during that time. Towards the end, it started chattering very bad and galled the flywheel up pretty good. Im using a exedy race full face organic now. The act street disk should suit your needs, and you will have a much more comfortable driving experience on the street.
