Can I make insurance claims on Dings, dents and scratches on my car?
As far as i know, you can make a claim. I just got my R scratched up last week, and my insurance has agreed to cover it. They also said this probably wont raise my rates because it wasn't a collision. I'm kind of skeptical on what the insurance guy said though because I got an estimate for 1,000 bucks just to fix scratches near the emblem area. Either way my body shop will work things out with them, I don't have to get involved.
dont trust your insurance...
all thay want is to make money
off of you ...so your best bet is
to save up and do it your self
if its really bad...then go through
your insurance..but just go look
around at diffrent body shops and
get some estamates HTH!

If you have comprehensive, and pay the deductable, the insurance company is obligated to make good on its insirance coverage.
Ive saw a bill at a paintless repair shop for $7800 to pull hail damage out of a Porsche, and the insurance company paid it.

They can't raise your rates because of a comprehensive claim. What they will do is pull your driving record again. If you've got any more tickets since the last time they checked, your rates will go up.
Well, being in the industry as I am. I can tell you this. If the scratches and/or dings have occured over time and are not the result of vandalism/hail. I'd say your out of luck. No insurance policy on the planet covers wear & tear from day to day use. So if I were you I'd save up a little and get them fixed on your own. Insrance companies are always looking for excuses to drop people and giving them one more reason won't be to your benifit. Just an FYI. Later.

If your car gets hit when you are not in it its a comprehensive claim and your rates don't go up.
