When I had my motor swap done, the new motor had the oil and filter changed. The motor hadn't run in about 4 months, before the swap. Should I change out the oil again sooner than 3,000 miles for the first change, or should it be ok?

 

oil and filter cost maybe 12 bucks ...... so why not just do it

 

Yeah, why take a chance with your engine. I say change it.

 

was it properly broken in with the original oil? Dont' they say the first change should not occur sooner than 3K to allow the engine to break in correctly?

 

It's cheap insurance. do it.
