well just got back from the track last night. 1/8mi
reaction........1.040
60ft..............2.194
330..............6.064
et@594ft.......8.689
1/8 et...........9.285
1/8 mph........75.49
gimme some advice here so I can improve my 60fts and times. My setup is a lsvtec with 11.7:1, stage 3crowers, mild head work w/ skunk 2 intake, and lightened flywheel and crank pulley, ys1 gsr tranny with lsd. vafc tuneing, I went and got tuned but the dyno wasnt calibrated so I just got my af ratio tuned good. NO cam timing(etc).still set at zero.
any way I was running khumo victor racers that were completely bald, my best time was launching at 3500-4000rpm. Now I know my 89si hatch is a hog. I am assuming that with the motor swap and my body weight I am around 2500lbs or so full interior.
How can I save some weight with my car. Up for all suggestions. I need to get this thing into 12's.

A sensible diet, and exercise are the best tools to use for losing unwanted pounds.
I don't think your car is quite that heavy, and you stated that your tires were bald, and that your car really isn't completely tuned yet, maybe more practice is needed once your cars shortcomings are taken care of?

I think that's how much my Si weighs, it's a 93 hatch. For some reason, I though the 88-91 hatches were lighter than my fat pig.

I was thinking about replacing my rear hatch window and the rear sides with plexi glass. Real light and durrable and not even close to the price of lexan(spelling). how much do you thjink I would save by replacing those. I know the windows are heavy.

Your gonna need more than weight reduction to get anywhere near the 12's. Right now that's a mid 14 second pass maybe low 14's on slicks. Tune the motor first

You havea couple of options for weight reduction.: 1) Lexan all the windows and go fiberglass doors, front clip, dash, sunroof, and hatch. Or 2) Just cut the doors and still lexan all the windows, and get a CF hood.
Gut the car completely...no interior, no saftey beams, gut all the crap under the dash..
Cut the rear bumper beam leave enough to attach the bumper...
hope this helps get you started.........

the Victoracers are the wrong tyre to drag on. The sidewalls are too stiff, try a drag radial at a low PSI and you should be able to launch better, which will lower the 60ft a touch.

the times I ran that I posted are slower than if I went to another track. If I go to the 1/4 which is a 1hr away I would be running high 8's. The 1/8 I went to sucks *** and is uphill.
Fasthatch89, thank you that was the kinda response I was looking for.
advanracing62, I was just using tires I had laying around, I didnt want to burn up my street tires. I just took the tires off and half of the tires was wire.lol I am going to pick up some slicks.

http://www.mmrusa.com sells all the fiberglass parts you need, but be prepared to spend some $$$... DIY lexan might be a good idea
check out this site for fiberglass stuff. better prices than mmr. best way to lighten up your car after gutting it. http://www.imagineengineering.com/fiberglass.htm
Yeah, shipping is a killer. If you get a 1pc front end, then you can put doors, hatch, etc in the same box any only pay for 1 shipping price. Its less than $300 for a 1pc. You can email me at ie@imagineengineering.com if you need any specific shipping quotes.
