My buddy has an 89 hatch.. ZC/Turbo'd and the rad as we all know goes across ther whole front end of the engine bay. basically restricting cold air flow, and only feeding hot air to the turbo... i was wondering if u guys think a 92-95 civic rad (which is half the size) would fit without any bigtime modification? thanks
they dont fit to well without modification to the front crossmember... they are a little taller than the stock rad... you can make it fit by leaning back towards the tranny and making a custom braket to hold it up top... I would just get a 90-93 teg rad though.. double core but its a full length rad
I have one too. What I did was:
1: Removed the front crossmember
2: Threaded tie rods with eyelets on the radius rods
3: Welded together a new crossbar with the rad mount lower in it
4: Welded tabs on the crossbar for the radius rods to mount to
5: Bolted it up to where the old tow hooks used to bolt to.
No hacking, and makes for a much more solid front end
IM for pics if you want.
