Default H22 accord vs turbo D16 civic

I'm bouncing this around in my head. I've already found a 91 accord 4door in excellent shape for 1500. I haven't bought it yet.
My grandmother is trying to ditch her 96 civic ex 4door...I was just curious about the SOHC builds. The civic is LOW mileage...less than 60K. I've seen some boosted D16s do good around here. What do you guys think dollar vs dollar between the two cars for a moderatly quick car? Moderately quick ie 12s in the quarter. I was planning on spraying the H22 quite a bit obviously. I've seen a 97 v6 accord around here on a 175 shot (wet) grab some high 10 sec 1000ft slips on slicks...so I now it could be done in a 4G accord with a H22 swap and some cold motivation.
I was really bouncing the idea around of a boosted D16, radical head work, etc, but stock internals.
You can slap me and say go with the H22 Accord if you want.

I'm diggin the boosted d16.

Hell sometimes I wish I would have turbocharged the F instead of swapping. :\ It's all in what you prefer. Those are two totally different beasts.

if you just want a fast car for racing, get the civic. every option you've mentioned will still be available to you, h22a swap + nitrous, boosted d16, and there's always the countless b series possibilities available also.

yeah but only if they can stop getting stolen someone must be studying my cousin. everyday those fiends keep on watchin and hes to himself they stay stealing his cars. Be on the lookout for followers at the mall or sudden comments from other people with the same car paranoia will save you in the end.

if your looking to go fast, dont buy either.they are both expensive, h22 swap and turboing a d16. you will be dissapointed. buy a crx and get a b18c you would
smoke a turbo d16 and a accord w/ a h22.
crx+R motor= smack nasty fast.
love,
BOB

well compare what your going to halft to deal with, buy the accord,h22,parts and mounts to get it going, your going to need to do mad wiring i spent over a thousand
just in little parts to get my swap going.

If your doing a 4 door civic to start off that motor sucks, and your going to spend over3,000$ just to do it semi right. rember hondas suck w/ turbo so you'll need a stand alone so figure another 1,000$ on top of that. dont even say vafc!~!~ cause those suck for turbo motors.with all the money your going to spend you wont be happy with the numbers you will get out out of it, i have spent over 13,000$ my my set up and i'm still not happy...
