What is the largest motor Honda makes?
I'm not a Honda guy, I wanted to post in the kills section but this trial user thing has restricted me. I figured I would look around a little and found the All Motor section!!!
Anywho, see subject line.

yeah i just recently finished putting a rebuilt 3.5L in my 5th Gen. hatch.
runs 11.2 in the 1/4 mile N/A on street tires.
no, J/K. these will not fit into the Civic or Teg w/o lots of mods to make it fit.
we normally only use the B series for Civ or Teg, but also use the H22 and H23 motors as well. so the largest stock displacement motor we swap would be the H23A at 2.3L displacement. if you start resleeving and overboring you can get 2.5L or more depending on the setup etc.
besides i think the V6 in a Civic would be a little too nose heavy.

Oh, I see.
How would you figure a V6 in a Civic would be nose heavy if they throw V6's in Toyota Camary's and Lexus Lexi? Or is it that the V6s are too big to put in the engine bays?
I guess I need to read a little more here.

the V6 motor is definantly a tight squeeze into the Civic bay, or even the Teg bay.
there would most likely be lots of cutting and welding, along with custom mounts etc. to make the larger V6 motors fit into that smaller engine bay.
the B18, B20, H22 and H23 aren't bad at all fitting into the Civ., the B series is pretty straight forward really.
a Civic normally will weigh about 2050-2350 with stock motor. adding an extra 100# roughly with a B series swap isn't so bad. but the V6 is considerably heavier than the B16 or B18, though i don't recall the weight of the V6 motors of the top of my head. you definantly don't want too much weight up front for daily driving and auto-x/road racing. i could see it being ok for drag/straight line driving though.

There are a couple civics with nsx motors custom mounted in the rear of the car, but they are basically tube chassis with civic shells. A shop in Japan built a '96 hatch with a nsx motor in the front, but I have only seen one picture of it.
the Signal Auto Chop top civic has the 3.5L NSX motor in it... they haven't worked out the bugs yet but they did make it fit...
And also i think the biggest easy (easier) fit motor would be the CRV/TSX K24...

you obviously aren't tuning the V6 motor right.
NSX NA motor is capable of over 400 HP in race trim.

I saw an old Accord V6 in a 1st gen CRX at a local Event here in Indianapolis. I don't know any details but I heard the motor had been in the car for 7 years. It was turboed and ran high 11s I think.

yeah the mid-engine V6 NSX motor is an excellent motor, but obviously different than the other FWD V6 Honda motors. a great motor to work with though, whether TT or N/A or SC even.

Yeah, I saw pictures of that Signal Civic, insane, they just squeezed that sucker in there, looks like there's no room for anything at all.

The problem with all the v6 motors except the NSX is that they are SOHC VTEC. Im not too sure on the legend motors. I was once interested in a legend motor swap in my EF....motor is cheap, but all the custom parts would be the expensive part and plus the fact that its SOHC(VTEC?). No garauntee that it would outperform the b/h series motors. I know bisi is the king of SOHC but i wasnt ready for that challenge.
best bet if you want to swap a v6 into a civic....do it in a ek/eg or go tube chassis civic/teg.

Yeah he parked right next to me at the Truck Bash. Funny thing is the motor fit in there without any major cutting or hacking and it drove around all day like a normal 1st gen CRX. It was turboed, and had a shot of nitrous.
