front end repair/rad supp.
i need to replace my radator support. i was wondering what welds have ot be drilled out, and where i can get a replacement. how difficult is this to repair?
and is the JDM radiator support different from the usdm one?

Nah the radiator support is fairly easy compared to other structural repairs...But....(k' just came back in . had to go see exactly where the spot welds were at)k' I seen a few by the fender and I seen them running right down the whole support...But my engine bay is way to dirty. So this is how it usually goes......YOu take all the radiator supports off and headlights and basically take off everything that u see or even think might be attatched to to it. remember the radiator support also includes that down piece that the hood latch assembly and all that is attatched to.... then the easiest way to do it is first I would take a blanket and cover up the engine compartment then get a die grinder with a soft disk or paint stripping wheel on it to run acroos the support . Thats the real only way youll be able to see where the spot welds are at. ( paint can cover them) . Then after you do that just drill them out andreplace the piece... Now the problem is lining things up right . I see too many body men just throw on rad. supports and then after everyt hings painted and everything is outta wak. So I suggest trying to match refrence points as best as you can, and another inexpensive but good method is crooss checking your work.. what youll need is sold at and body shop store and looks like a pole with two long pins coming down from the end and what chu do is you take that and chck from refrence point to refrence point ... fir ex. you might check it from the back fender bolt on the right side to a refrence point on the front left side of the rad. support then you go to the bolt on the left side side to the front right refrence point on the rad. support.. Do all this before you put all your spot welds into place. you can use some tack welds when you think that you have it then just remember to keep double checking your work ..OH AND ALSO dont for get to put back the radiator if u took it out or if u just pushed it back to see if things are falling right.. Sorry if its complicated to unnastand but not good at explaining things good luck!
