Default B16b Block, Piston and Cam Clearance ?

Yeah its late, and maybe I'm just not following through in my thinking, but I have a question....

I have a CTR b16b block, lets say I was to go with a more aggressive cam such as a Toda B or something of the sort and a thin headgasket. Due to the shorter stroke of the pistons and am I going to have the same clearance problems as B18C's? Does the dome height protrude the same with the shorter stroke since its the same block casting? Like I said its late and I guess I'm just not picturing things completely. Any help would be appreciated- thanks!

i believe the ctr block IS taller then the standard b16a block. what i mean is, if you put ctr pistons into a b16a, the domes will stick out of the top of the block slightly. due to the taller deck on the b16b, i don't think that's the case at all.

BUT, it's early and i'm not awake yet....

I don't think he's asking that question. Either way CTR pistons will stick out the same amount on all of the B-Series blocks. Just because the B16A has a shorter deck height, they just run shorter rods then the B16B. It protrudes out no more then the other blocks. With TODA B's on a stock block B16B you "shouldn't" run into problems, but then again I always say you shoudl always clay your motor first because you never know. It's cheap, doesn't take long and added insurence. Of coures with only 10.8:1 or with a thinner head gasket 11.X:1 Your are still probably gonna want a little more compression for those cams. In your configuration now they will still make a lot more power over the CTR's past about 6-6,500.

Thanks for the info! I was thinking that was the case, but couldn't really visualize it. Yeah, if I do go with something that aggressive and just a headgasket for higher c/r, I'll definitely clay before running it. Thanks.
