how important are the timing belt covers? I have a little crack where u insert the bolt to hold the cover.

 

I'm pretty sure they're not uber important. They just keep rocks and other crap away from the belts, so they don't get caught in the gears and split the belts.

Clean up the crack, and maybe put a small piece of tape over it as long as it's not too big.
