86 crx= #rd gen?
Okay, an 86 crxsi is a "3rd" gen? and what would be the best web site to look at when it comes to swapping ENGINES...not just looking for mounts. I need to know what I can and can't fit in that tiny space...Thnx--
yep... it's the 1st gen CRX, but the 3rd gen for the civic.
there's a guy on here with an H22 in his '85 CRX.
it must be insane!
*EDIT* i was wrong... it's an H23 VTEC!

Yeah dude, 84-87 is 1G for the CRX, and 3G for the Civic. I bet thats where you got messed up. As suggested earlier, pay a visit to http://www.RedPepperRacing.com they are the best site for these cars. Actually, thats mainly all they deal with. Good luck man.

Also, the most popular swap is the B16A. Hasport and Place Racing make mounts to swap into the 84-87's. The only other reasonable swap is the D16A1 from the 86-89 Integras. Those engines bolt in. But you may want the black top (88-89) because it has electronic advance like your Si. As far as what can go in your CRX, anything goes. That H23 is pretty extreme, but a friend of mine is going to buy my 84 CRX and he at least wants to put a 318 ci engine in it.... Good luck with that one buddy. haha. I wish there was a company that would make a mount kit to put a D series motor in that car. But anyways, you can find motors anywhere; eBay, guys on this forum, online shops, local shops (depends on where you live, there's none around here), other local racers... You may want to check out the closest drag strip and ask around, but they may be more expensive than other people/places. But then again, maybe a lot cheaper.
i was browsing the "All Motor" forum and came across it...
