i have ITR rims on my 96 hatch. with the stock Bridgestone 195/55/15 tires, when i turn (my car doesn't have power steering), it's very hard. it's a bitch getting in a out of parking lots. today, i switched the tires to Nitto Extreme Performance 195/50/15, my car turns very easily. can someone explain why?

First guess based on what you say and the fact that I have manual steering myself... the Nitto's are MUCH less grippier than the Bridgestones... it's the only explaination for the steering force to be easier with the new tire.

HTH...

Rolling resistance and grip most likely. Dont forget to check your tire pressures.
