Default "Borrowing" a Prelude for a couple years :)

As the topic states, I'll be borrowing my brother's 99 prelude for the next couple years while he's away at school, far far away, and am itching to do stuff to it. Its fairly stock now, except for tien coilovers (HA's) and an AEM intake, plus some audio stuff (nothing major like subs or amps involved). Anyway, what's some little things I could do to it to make it perform a bit better, or even look a little better. I know nothing about the secrets of the prelude, so any help you can offer would be great I wouldn't want to spend more then 2g's on this thing over the course of 2 yrs, as it will go back to my brother when he comes back from school..

I've got a short shifter in the mail now, so that's one thing crossed off the list.

If its a fifth gen I suggest getting an Mugen Header and Exhaust. Roughly 2 grand, and your brother will love it when he gets back ahhaa

adjust the throttle cable for better acceleration.

depending on where you live, you can do the coolant bypass.

check this site for more DIY mods. http://www.ntpog.org

I got an oem front and rear lip kit for sale, and 18 inch axis seven wheels with new
tires. Email me at faridnekouee@hotmail.com for pics.

I hope your brother knows you're gonna be modding HIS car while he is gone.

If not, that's pretty shitty if he's letting you drive it while he's away.

if i were you i wouldnt spend too much on it, get a nice audio system and MAYBE some rims.

I mean, how are you going to feel when your brother comes back (or comes back on vacation) and asks for his car back?

^ what he said!
I would also agree get some audio stuff or rims. Something that you can keep when he takes the car back.
I would never ever ever let anyone borrow my car for a week let alone 2 years.
Hey what you doin in the summer since he'll prolly be back from school. Why don't you just mail your brother the $2k since your going to be giving it to him anyway.

well this wouldn't be my daily driver, I'd just drive it every now and then, and if the roles were reversed, I'd let him have my car while I was away, we trust each other with our cars. Besides, I don't care when he comes back and the stuff stays on the car, I'd consider it a gift anyway, so its no big deal, besides, I'd still get to drive it.

I guess you'd have to know the situation...

One of my best friends has sort of "co-owned" a 99 Dakota with his brother. They bought it together and have paid it off by now I believe. It takes a lot of trust in someone to let them drive a vehicle you painted yourself in the winter! Steve and Bryan have lowered it 3 & 5, done two different chameleon and yellow paint jobs on it, and shaved all of the handles and emblems. To most of you that wouldn't be interesting, but it is a really great looking truck that gets respect everywhere it goes.

Thats cool man, I dont have a 5th gen, but if your going to work on the car for your brother I suggest a lip. Dont tangle with the engine, it may backfire and the car may not function correctly. Exhaust and lip would make the car alot more enjoyable. Just hearing the car purr after it sparks on is joyous for every prelude owner.

Have you ever heard of a Ford Lightning. 5.3 0-60///13.7 second Quarter mile time. 146 MPH TOP SPEED.
Stock faster then an S2000. Im not sure what you mean by fast.

Sorry for the big image.

I love Lightnings!

I like the exhaust idea, I was thinking fo that before too.
I guess I should add it already has the full oem kit now, and I think it looks pretty good as is. So far exhaust...WS would be good, and other decent exhausts out there? I'd never get anything like an N1 for that car..
