First the bad news--the American Iron series event Oct. 4th and 5th at Watkins Glen has been canceled. The good news is that we will be running the FULL course at VIR with the Grand Am series the same weekend...
The Virginia region alone will provide 25 cars, Ohio/Indiana 15 cars and I have a preliminary commitment from the West coast for 7 cars. This does not include the new Texas AI region, HSR guys from Atlanta that were to run The Glen with us nor any guest players that will surely come out and play for an event of this magnitude. </TD></TR></TABLE>
For a series that started in parallel to Honda-Challenge I've gotta say I am very, very happy for the AI guys. They put on a great show and they show a lot of the same comraderie and good will in the paddock that we've come to love about NASA in general and HC in specific.
Us MM boys were gonna head down to VIR anyway to watch the Ferrari o' Wash crew but this is icing on the cake

Hmm .. maybe time to buy a Rustang. On second thought, maybe I should just off myself!
Congrats to the AI guys!!
That should be cool. I wonder if they will be mentioned in the GAC Speed broadcast?
To be fair, AI was out west before it came east and had the support of NASA national from the start.
I hope ECHC can get a break like this one day. I would really love to run on a street course.

For the American Iron series this could be the break we have been waiting for. I am currently searching for a sponsor to absorb production cost for filming. The TV crews will be there anyway filming the Grand Am race. I am also searching for a title race sponsor to provide a race purse.

So if anyone has means to help this production cost effort out, I think it would mean a freaking ton to these guys.

Shuggles first step to becoming a big time pro driver.
Hopefully he'll still be friends with us little guys. I'm thinking I could get an autograph or something.

I was supposed to be down there that weekend to possibly help with the Schuitemaker team, but I have a certain individual's wedding to attend that Saturday instead.
