Default proform shift light problems???

well, I am on my second proform shift light and the f_cking thing still randomly lights when ever it feels like it. So far I have mounted the signal wire to the neg coil, blue wire off dizzy, rpm signal wire off ecu, and lastly and currently the rpm signal off the tach harness behind the dash. This time I also used the supplied ign+ and ground that was located back there so all wires are located in same general area. Is it possible that I have recieved 2 deffective shift lights?? or is their something mechanicaly or electricaly wrong with my car. I used the rpm signal wire because I knew that was a working spot because VAFC is tapped there. Possible igniter problem in dizzy or any thing? I am about to throw this thing in the trash. I always here people having the same problem but noone ever posts how they fixed it.

Help Me..

anyone, lately my tach has been bouncing all over the place in mid rpm. I tightened up all the screws on the back of the dash and checked all my grounds. Is there a way I can check the rpm signal to make sure its good and clean and if not what could be going wrong in my distributer?
