Default Crv oil Pump same as ITR and GSR, but for what year??

i keep hearing peple talk about the crv block having the same oil pump as GSR and ITR, but for what year does that apply to?? I have a 96 CRV block is my block too old?? Do i really need an ITR oil pump or a GSR one?? Whats the part number on that if any knows, Thanks!

non vtec and vtec have different oil pumps. vtec ones flow more oil at a higher pressure. use any vtec oil pump if you are using a vtec head...otherwise...non vtec is fine.. the cheapest is the type r/99 si. but you have to run a us 96 up lower cover the clear the mounts for the crank fluctuation sensor.

Not to argue ( nice sig), but I know that some of the crv's oil pumps were the same part number as the type R. I used a crv pump and I make 80 psi no prob same as a r pump. Water pumps are a diff story.
