ok heres the deal we put a b16a first gen into a 91 crx got it running good and all.heres the problem w.hen the car is off the car goes into gear but when its on it doesnt go into gear....i know there is an adjustment on the clutch cable but right now i dont have the ls cable and the stock one wont reach, so i just lifted the clutch arm with a string... what could be the problem. i was thinking that since i dont have the ls clutch cable that the adjustments are so minute that u cant just lift it with a string. TIA

 

Get the right clutch cable, then if that don't work move on and see what else it can be.

 

Don't think a string would work. The force your foots put down through the pedal is way more than any one can pull up on the clutch lever... Change the cable, problem should be gone..
