Default Everyone please help. Smog on swap. Important.

I Made a topic about 2 weeks ago similar to this, and got some really good feedback, so im asking for help again. I am going in to see the smog ref in a couple days and need some tips. Here's what I have:

95 civic cx
95 JDM GSR motor B18c (completley stock)
Itr Tranny

New cat. converter
new plugs
new plug wires (8mm)

In your guys (gals) opinions, what exactly should I do to pass the inspection? The car runs great, no leaks. It has a weird sound at idle like it is missing, but I have determined it is a bad O2 sensor, so that will be replaced beforehand. The motor is COMPLETLEY stock, no mods, right down to the stock exaust manifold heat shield. I have been told that i need a usdm exh. manifold, but my heat shield covers this one. It also has the ecu that came w/ the motor.

Please help me out, i really need this car to pass the inspection. Any help will be greatley appreciated!!

I think the reason you may have to use another exhaust manifold is because the jdm one has a bigger collector(2.5) vs the usdm which is 2.25. Its not only the collector but the whole manifold has bigger tubes.

you're going to need the USDM: ECU, exhaust manifold, GSR complete smog equipment(evap cansiter, PCV, O2 sensor, evap solnoid, all the vacuum lines hook up like the USDM version)

You're not going to be able to pass smog with that setup...your model car never had a b18c engine as an option. You're going to have to go a crooked smog place,
or find a really dumb smog tech. You'll need to run race gas if you want the car to run clean. Jspec engines are designed to run clean using a higher octane gas than the u.s.. You should use the JDM ecu to run your car and fill the tank with 101 or higher race gas. Good Luck

I know a couple guys on this board have passed w/ the exact same setup, so i am pretty sure i can have the motor in the car, as long as it is all legal. And is that really true about the gas. Highest I get here is 91.

They are pretty strict about the year of the engine being as new or newer than the engine that was removed. If they check that may be the downfall of your plan. At least that is how it is here in good old, easy to pass emmissions, Noth Carolina.

Yeah, the car and engine are both '95s, so i should be okay there, and i have since put in the usdm ECU. It has ALL the smog equip. The only thing I think I have to worry about now it the exaust manifold. Hopefully I get a cool ref who will let that go (yeah right). Well, im going in 2 hours, so wish me luck.
