Default good deal???

i need to buy a new car before school starts since my ek is not running right now. so i found a 90 si hatch that has 211,000 miles on it with a b16a swap. problem is that it has a bad 5th gear/no 5th gear. im gonna pick it up for 1500+ i have to throw in 00 gsr suspension and my subs and amp that i dont use anyway? does that sound like a good deal. by the way the car is black and its clean tittle.

Whats the condition of the body of the Hatch? Any rust, dents, etc....? Do you know the person selling it? Do you know if he beat on it at all?

the car is wetsanded so i need to buff it out to get the original color back. the body looks stragiht from the pictures. i dont know the person who is selling it personally. i assume he beat on it occasionaly seeing that anyone who does a swap has the intenion of driving hard. but he says the motor has about 30-50k. and runs strong.

I think that's a good price since it hs a B16 in it already, all you need to do is get a new tranny because those high geared trannies are gonna kill your gas mileage if you keep it in 4th all the time...

yeah i was thinking the same thing. i was gonna get it to drive around town and to get me to school and back. i had a old y1 lsd tranny that i sold and im kicking my self now cause i should have kept it. the car is about 300 miles away from me, you think id be able to make it back to my house in 4th gear the whole way back? what would the RPM be in 4th at about 65-70mph? im thinking of just renting a dolly and towing it back home.

Well I dont know what kinda rims/tires you have laying around or could borrow but taking a pair of larger diameter rims/tires will bring the rpms down a good bit for the drive home.

your rpm's are gonna be waaay up there in 4th goin about 70, mine are way up there goin 70 in 5th, so ya, you could do it, but its gnna be annoying, and a pain, esecially if it has a loud exauhst, if you could rent a truck or a dolly then id say go for it, but if not it can be done your rpm's are gonna be HIGH though.
